MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541084584 A) filed by Dr. M. G. R. Educational & Research Institute, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Sept. 5, 2025, for 'synthesis of nano structured metal oxide compounds for supercapacitor applications.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. C. Andal; and Dr. E. Kavitha.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure discloses a system (100) and a method for synthesizing nanostructured metal oxides for supercapacitor applications. The system (100) comprises a precursor preparation module (102) configured to mix at least two metal oxide precursors in predetermined ratios, a microwave-assisted synthesis module (104) configured to subject the precursors to controlled microwave irradiation for nanostructure formation, and a material post-processing module (106) configured to perform grinding, calcination, and filtration to obtain a uniform powdered nanostructured compound. A characterization and testing module (108) is configured to analyze morphology, crystallinity, chemical bonding, electrochemical activity, and cyclic stability of the nanostructured compound. A supercapacitor electrode fabrication module (110) is configured to integrate the synthesized compound into electrodes, and an application integration module (112) is configured to validate the electrodes in supercapacitor devices. The disclosure enables faster, energy-efficient synthesis of nanostructured materials with improved capacitance, high cyclic stability, and scalability for energy storage applications."
