MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517050865 A) filed by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Tokyo, on May 27, for 'synchronous reluctance motor and railcar drive device.'

Inventor(s) include Kaneko, Kenta; Hamada, Yu; Jike, Naoya; and Hazeyama, Moriyuki.

The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This synchronous reluctance motor (1) comprises: a stator core (9) having multiple slots (14) formed therein; and a rotor core (11) configured in a cylindrical shape on an inner surface side of the stator core (9). The rotor core (11) has multiple slits (15), the openings of which are divided by center ribs (18). An angle formed between adjoining slits by circumferential midpoints of arc-shaped ends following the outer peripheral surface of the rotor core (11) with respect to the cylinder center of the rotor core (11) at arc-shaped openings of the slits (15) closest to the outer periphery of the rotor core (11) is defined as a slit interval and expressed by ?, and the number of the slots of the stator core (9) is defined as S. Then, the slit interval ? is expressed by ? = 360/(S x k) using a coefficient k which is a positive real number, and the coefficient k is set to a value in the range of 0.6 = k = 0.8."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 07, 2022, under International application No.PCT/JP2022/045139.
