MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005547 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 27, 2024, for 'sweet potato growing device.'

Inventor(s) include Umesh Bhardwaj; Krishna Kalsi; Ashwini K. Sharma; and Bhasker Pratap Choudhary.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sweet potato growing device, comprising a cylindrical hollow body 1, a set of chambers 2 stored with soil, rice husk ash, coir, and cow dung, a computing unit enabling a user to give input commands regarding type of sweet potatoes to be grown within the body 1, a motorized iris lid 3 actuated by the microcontroller for dispensing the fetched amount of the soil, rice husk ash, coir, and cow dung within the body 1, multiple iris pores 5 allowing the user to insert braches within the soil for growing sweet potatoes within the body 1, a disc 10 configured within the body 1 via a pair of motorized sliders 11 is actuated by microcontroller for removing the sweet potatoes from the body 1."
