MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541121043 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education, Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 3, 2025, for 'sustainable edible wax coating from orange peel waste for enhanced food preservation.'

Applications of this sustainable edible wax coating include postharvest preservation of fresh produce, extending the shelf life of fruits and vegetables in supermarkets and storage facilities, and enabling safer transport for the food export industries."
