MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621044052 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on April 6, for 'sustainable and energy efficient bus bay system with integrated solar roofing, compressed stabilized earth block walls and permeable pavement.'

The system comprises a primary structural framework (110) of engineered bamboo and recycled steel, a solar polycarbonate roofing system (120) with integrated photovoltaic cells (123) for on-site electricity generation, a wall system (130) utilizing Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (131) with vertical green wall panels (132) for thermal comfort and air purification, and a multi-layered permeable pavement system (140) for groundwater recharge and elimination of surface runoff. The solar power generation unit (150) provides complete energy self-sufficiency for lighting, surveillance, and passenger amenities. The invention achieves 30 to 35 percent reduction in embodied carbon compared to conventional construction, enhances commuter comfort, and aligns with sustainable development goals for clean energy, sustainable cities, and climate action."
