MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010699 A) filed by EV Podcars, Grand Baie, Mauritius, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'suspended vehicle track selection safety assurance system.'

Inventor(s) include Louw, Andries Auret.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Techniques for assuring safety in operations of self-steering suspended vehicles operating on an elevated track (126, 300, 400) are described. Disclosed is a vehicle motion unit (100) comprising wheel assemblies (104) with sensing units to detect a position of a wheel set (110) relative to a reference element on the elevated track (126, 300, 400). An actuator may perform corrective actions based on the sensing unit determining that there is a misalignment either in between a leading wheel set (110-1) and a trailing wheel set (110-2) or within a single wheel set (110). A control unit (200) receives signals from the sensing units, process the signals to determine misalignments, and triggers the corrective actions. For additional safety, the elevated track (126, 300, 400) is provided with a channel (304) formed by a vertical guide wall (302) and a supplementary guide rail (306) near track split junctions."
