MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019728 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 17, 2024, for 'surface traction improving device for vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Mohammad Mazid; and Dr. Pradeep Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A surface traction improving device for vehicle comprises of a platform 1 having multiple plates 2 developed to be installed by a user adjacent to a wheel of a vehicle positioned on a low friction surface, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting distance between platform 1 and a wheel approaching towards platform 1, a motorized hinge joint 3 for deploying plates 2, a weight sensor for detecting positioning of wheel on plates 2, multiple pneumatic pins 5 for extending to provide grip to wheel in order to increase traction of wheel, an imaging unit 6 for determining presence of any obstacle in vicinity to platform 1, a robotic gripper 7 for picking and throwing detected obstacle away from platform 1, a motion sensor for detecting movement of vehicle on platform 1 and multiple telescopic rods 8 for providing appropriate height to platform 1 that aids in providing proper traction to wheel."
