MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022845 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 23, 2024, for 'surface smoothening assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A surface smoothening assistive device, comprising a cylindrical housing 1 crafted with a handle 2 that is accessed by a user to position housing 1 over a surface that is to be smoothened, a pair of L-shaped links 3 are configured within housing 1 that are developed to accommodate multiple buffing pads, a microphone 4 installed over housing 1 to receive voice command of user regarding smoothening of surface, multiple motorized grippers 5 are configured with sliding unit 9 to grip periphery of dispensed buffing pad in a secured manner, a LIDAR sensor 6 installed over housing 1 and synced with imaging unit to determine surface leveling of surface, a laser projector 7 installed over housing 1 to project laser light over detected uneven surface to guide user to perform smoothening over surface."
