MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517129309 A) filed by W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., Newark, U.S.A., on Dec. 19, 2025, for 'suprachoroidal implantable devices and methods for treating hypertension within an eye.'
Inventor(s) include Mcalister, Jesse R.; Savory, Kevin M; and Towler, Jeffrey C.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Suprachoroidal implantable devices formed of a compliant material have an external surface and an opposing internal surface with varying porosity extending through the compliant material or presenting external and internal surfaces with differing porosities. The compliant material surfaces either facilitate or inhibit tissue ingrowth into the material. The device and methods of using the device reduce pressure in the eye by directing fluid through the compliant material."
The patent application was internationally filed on June 07, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/033047.
