MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026076 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'support device for promoting plant growth.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Charu Mehan; Dr. Maninder Singh Gill; Ankita Pal; and Subodh Khosla.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A support device for promoting plant growth comprises of a rectangular base frame 1 having four telescopic legs 2 for adjusting a height of the frame 1 with respect to a ground, multiple pneumatic pins at bottom ends of the telescopic legs 2 for extending to anchor to the ground, a robotic arm 4 with a suction cup 5 provided on the base frame 1 for holding of a fruit at a predetermined angle, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 installed on the base frame 1 to determine a suitable position on the ground, a projection unit 7 to project an image onto the ground to indicate the suitable position on ground to a user, four cover surfaces provided at four sides of the base frame 1 attached by motorized hinges to cover the plant in the base frame 1 when an animal is in vicinity of the base frame 1."
