MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541072617 A) filed by Central University Of Karnataka; and Prof. Konkallu Hanumae Gowd, Kalaburagi, Karnataka, on July 30, 2025, for 'sunscreen agents combination with insulin as photostabile uva filters and its preparation thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to the development of peptide-based photostabilizer composition of sunscreen agents. It particularly relates to the development of sunscreen formulations with insulin or its analogues as photoprotection agents. More specifically, it pertains to the use of human insulin and other biologically derived peptides or proteins as novel photostabilizers for ultraviolet (UV) filters such as avobenzone / 4-fluroavobenzone in sunscreen formulations. It also relates to the development of suitable method for preparation of sunscreen formulations with human insulin or its analogues as photostabilizer."
