MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065544 A) filed by Nanovation Therapeutics Inc., Vancouver, Canada, on July 9, for 'sulfur-containing ionizable lipids for the delivery of nucleic acids and other therapeutic agents.'
Inventor(s) include Arnold, Deaglan; Atmuri, N. D. Prasad; Saadati, Fariba; Tran, Huy; and Ciufolini, Marco A.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided herein is an ionizable, cationic amino lipid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The ionizable, cationic amino lipid has: a protonatable amino head group; two lipophilic chains, wherein the protonatable amino head group has a central carbon atom to which each of the two lipophilic chains are directly bonded; at least one of the two lipophilic chains has a structure of Formula C: Formula C wherein E is an ester in either orientation. The compounds may be formulated in a lipid nanoparticle for use in the delivery of charged cargo such as nucleic acid."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 21, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CA2023/051727.
