MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517076825 A) filed by Hirotsu Bio Science Inc., Tokyo, on Aug. 12, for 'substance (hatching accelerator) accelerating hatching of cyst nematodes.'

Inventor(s) include Yokota Shigefumi; and Tanimoto Ren.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a substance (hatching accelerator) accelerating hatching of cyst nematodes. The hatching accelerator can be advantageously used, for example, to allow cyst nematodes to hatch in soil in the absence of plants on which cyst nematodes are parasitic so as to kill the cyst nematodes by starvation after hatching, thereby preventing crop damage caused by the cyst nematodes."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 15, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/000726.
