MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517050721 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on May 27, for 'structural component for automobile, and method for manufacturing pressed component.'
Inventor(s) include Nakagawa Kinya; Shinmiya Toyohisa; and Yamasaki Yuji.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a technique for conveniently molding a high-design pressed component without decreasing productivity. Provided is a press-formed article having a steel plate as the material thereof, the article having a top plate part (2), vertical wall parts (3) that are continuous with the top plate part (2) via a ridge part (5), and a corner part (4) that connects left-right end parts of the adjacent vertical wall parts (3) and has an arc-shaped ridge part (5) that is convex outward as viewed from the top plate part (2) side, and the curvature radius of the ridge part (5) from the top plate part (2) to the vertical wall parts (3) and the corner part (4) being such that the curvature radius R2 [mm] in the vertical wall parts (3) connected to the corner part (4) satisfies conditional expression (1), where R1 [mm] is the curvature radius in the corner part (4). (1): 5.0 = R1/R2 = 1.2."
