MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511113116 A) filed by Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 18, 2025, for 'sterile tapered dental needle with reinforced hub and visual markings for precise injection.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Shikha Jaiswal; and Dr. Sachin Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a sterile tapered dental needle designed for intra-pulpal and intra-ligamentary anaesthesia. The needle features a 30-gauge tip for easy insertion into narrow spaces and a 25-gauge hub with a 4% taper to prevent bending under backpressure. Markings assist in precise bending for ease of access. Its design aims to reduce postoperative pain by managing backpressure and preventing needle deformation."
