MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517090857 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Sept. 23, for 'steel sheet, member and production methods for those.'

Inventor(s) include Chiba Tadachika; Kimura Hideyuki; Matsui Yoichiro; and Noguchi Kotomi.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided are: a steel sheet which exhibits excellent ductility, bore expanding properties and chemical conversion properties, while having a tensile strength of 780 MPa or more; a member; and a production method for the steel sheet and a production method for the member. The steel sheet has a component composition which contains, in mass%, C, Si, Mn, P, S, sol. Al and N in predetermined ranges, and satisfies formula (1), and a steel structure in which the area ratio or the like of polygonal ferrite is within a predetermined range. With respect to the steel sheet, the maximum concentration [Pm] of P in a portion within 1 m from the steel sheet surface in the sheet thickness direction is 0.025 mass% or more, and formula (2) is satisfied. Formula (1): [Si]/[Mn] = 0.35 Formula (2): [Pm]/[Pi] = 1.5."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 21, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/011163.
