MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517099130 A) filed by Nippon Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Oct. 14, for 'steel material.'

Inventor(s) include Tomio, Yusaku.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a steel material which includes prior-austenite grains having a crystal grain diameter exceeding 5.0 m but has high strength and excellent hydrogen embrittlement resistance. The steel material according to the present disclosure has a chemical composition comprising, in terms of mass%, 0.20-0.45% C, 0.05-1.50% Si, 0.01-1.00% Mn, up to 0.030% P, up to 0.0100% S, 0.40-1.10% Cr, 0.40-1.30% Mo, 0.01-0.30% V, 0.005-0.100% Nb, 0.001-0.030% Ti, 0.005-0.100% Al, 0.0005-0.0050% B, up to 0.0100% N, up to 0.0050% O, and Fe and impurities as the remainder. The prior-austenite grains have a crystal grain diameter GS of 5.0-30.0 m, excluding 5.0 m, and the steel material has a yield strength s of 862-965 MPa, a yield point drop ?s of 40 MPa or greater, and a yield point elongation ?e of 1.5% or higher."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 15, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/010329.
