MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511113118 A) filed by Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 18, 2025, for 'stc mta carrier (see-through calibrated mta carrier).'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Shikha Jaiswal; and Dr. Sachin Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a dental device designed to address the challenges in dispensing Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) accurately during endodontic procedures such as apexification and perforation repairs. Traditional MTA carriers, often made of opaque metal, do not allow the operator to assess the exact quantity of MTA being applied at the site. This often results in overfilling, material wastage, or the need for additional radiographic imaging to confirm proper sealing. To solve this, the STC MTA Carrier incorporates a transparent and calibrated dispensing tip that enables the dental practitioner to visualize and regulate the amount of MTA being used. With calibrations marked at 0.5 mm intervals up to 3 mm, the device provides precise control and helps in achieving optimal sealing thickness, thereby minimizing unnecessary X-ray exposure, and enhancing material efficiency."
