MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631062375 A) filed by Assam Down Town University, Guwahati, Assam, on May 16, for 'standardized non-caffeinated nutraceutical composition and a process for preparation thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a non-caffeinated herbal tea composition and a process for preparing the same using indigenous plant materials of North East India. The composition comprises dried guava leaves, wood apple shell, lemon, butterfly pea flower, mint, roselle, lemongrass, ginger, or combinations thereof, processed through controlled sun-drying and oven-drying protocols to preserve bioactive compounds. The herbal tea formulations exhibit high antioxidant, phenolic, and flavonoid content, superior sensory acceptability, and microbial safety. The invention provides a safe, caffeine-free, nutritionally beneficial beverage with validated shelf stability, suitable for functional food and nutraceutical applications."
