The composition comprises a hydroethanolic extract of neem leaf standardized to not less than 4 percent nimbidin and 2 percent total polyphenols, a supercritical carbon dioxide extract of neem seed kernel standardized to 0.5 to 1.5 percent azadirachtin, present in a weight ratio of 3:1 to 1:1, together with 0.5 to 2 percent piperine as a bioavailability enhancer and pharmaceutically acceptable excipients. The composition is delivered as a 250 to 750 milligram unit oral dose. A process of preparation employing controlled hydroethanolic and supercritical CO2 extractions is also disclosed. The composition demonstrates significant hepatoprotection, induction of Phase II detoxification enzymes, restoration of glutathione, and elevation of CD4+ and CD8+ T-lymphocyte counts in animal and human studies."
