MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019735 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 17, 2024, for 'spring installation and removal device for side-stands of two-wheeler.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Satyavir Singh; and Dr. Pratap Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A spring installation and removal device for side-stands of two-wheeler, comprising a platform 1 positioned in proximity to a vehicle, a chamber 4 for storing multiple springs, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 6 determines type of spring that is required to be installed on side-stand along with placement of springs on side-stand, a robotic gripper 7 for withdrawing and placing one of springs inside a C-shaped clamp 8, a weight sensor for detecting placement of spring on clamp 8, an electromagnetically operated thread 9 for magnetizing to secure spring inside clamp 8 and a robotic link 10 positioning spring for engaging a first portion of spring with a primary stopper installed on chassis of vehicle, the microcontroller actuates a rotation and translation mechanism for expanding thread 9 that results in pulling of spring followed by engaging of a second portion of spring with a secondary stopper arranged on stand."
