MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017947 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'split-end hair removal assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Amit Kumar Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A split-end hair removal assistive device, comprises of an elongated body 1 having a first and second portion attached with a handle 4 for enabling a user to comb 5 the hair via a comb 5, a color sensor for detecting any difference in color of the user's hair, a camera 6 for detecting the presence of split-end hair, a speaker 7 for notifying the user regarding the presence of split-end hair, user is required to coil hair on a roller installed on the body 1 via links, a curved-shaped plate 8 installed with the body 1 and configured with plurality of elongated members 9 for passing split-end hair, an artificial intelligence-enabled imaging unit for detecting split-end hair and multiple motorized blades 10 for cutting the split-end hair such that the hair is collected into a chamber."
