MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521131498 A) filed by Mit Art, Design And Technology University, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 24, 2025, for 'spillage preventive package.'

Inventor(s) include Shravani Khanzode; Tejal Kulkarni; Sakshi Madkar; Hritika Nair; and Bhavin Vamanrao Mali.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a spillage preventive package (50) that addresses the existing problems of unclear, inconvenient, and spill-prone sheet mask packaging. The package (50) comprises flexible body having a bottom surface (20) provided with creases (30) on diagonal corners, providing concave shape to the bottom surface (20) and a wide opening (10) with a resealable cover (40) provided on a top surface (15). The concave bottom surface (20) prevents excess liquid from spilling out when the package is opened by guiding the liquid to pool in the center. The opening (10) is having a width sufficient for accessing the internal space and having a tapering edge aligned with a corner from the second set of two diagonal corners. All the features of the packaging collectively enhance user convenience, reduce spillage, and improve product utilization."
