MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517058529 A) filed by Nippon Steel Chemical & Material Co. Ltd., Tokyo, on June 18, for 'spherical alumina particles and method for producing same.'
Inventor(s) include Ae, Masanori; Tanaka, Mutsuhito; Matsuki, Asahi; Katou, Jinya; and Numao, Ryutaro.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "[Summary] [Problem] To provide spherical alumina particles that are capable of improving the thermal conductivity and suppressing the viscosity (raising the fluidity) of a resin composition formed when kneaded with a resin, and a method for producing the same. [Solution] Spherical alumina particles characterized in that D50 by laser diffraction scattering is from 0.5 to 10.0 m, particles of 20.0 m or more are 0.04 wt% or less in a particle size distribution measured by a wet particle size test method, the specific surface area by the BET method is from 0.35 m2/g to 3.50 m2/g, the "tap bulk density" specified in the Japanese Industrial Standard JIS R1628: 1997 is from 1.30 g/cm3 to 2.50 g/cm3, and the circularity is 0.90 or more."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 22, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/046180.
