MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611008178 A) filed by Sandeep Kumar Singh, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Jan. 28, for 'spectacle-mounted pupil ruler for non-contact ocular measurements.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides a non-contact pupil measurement device for accurately determining interpupillary distance (IPD) and fitting height for spectacle wearers. The device includes a personalized frame with horizontal and vertical scales, optionally fitting over a selected spectacle frame to account for individual geometry and lens variations. A nose-clip may stabilize the frame, and a light source or digital camera may be incorporated to enhance pupil visibility and capture images for measurement."
