MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202544089133 A) filed by Nokia Technologies Oy, Espoo, Finland, on Sept. 18, 2025, for 'sounding reference signal port grouping for codeword transmission.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sounding reference signal port grouping method and apparatus for codeword transmission is provided. A method for implementing sounding reference signal port grouping for codeword transmission may include determining capability information for data transmissions including an indication of one or more antenna port groups for a plurality of antenna ports for receiving a codeword transmission. The method may further include transmitting, to a network entity, the capability information comprising the indication of the one or more antenna port groups including a mapping of the plurality of antenna ports per codeword. The method may further include receiving, from the network entity, a channel state information reporting configuration based on the capability information. The channel state information reporting configuration may include an indication to include, in a channel state information report, a channel quality indicator based on a selection of one or more antenna port groups."
