MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414103745 A) filed by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Shizuoka, Japan, on Dec. 27, 2024, for 'sound insulation structure of transmission for vehicles.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The sound insulation structure of the transmission (2) includes the left-side sound insulation cover (16) attached to the left sidewall (6D) of a front case (6), and the left-side sound insulation cover (16) includes a resin cover (16A), and a sound absorbing member (16B) that is provided integrally with the resin cover (16A) in a region between the left sidewall (6D) of the front case (6) and the resin cover (16A) and has rigidity lower than that of the resin cover (16A). The sound absorbing member (16B) includes an upper bulging portion (16a) arranged above a lateral rib (6E) and abutting the upper surface of the lateral rib (6E) while overlapping the lateral rib (6E) in the up-down direction, and a lower bulging portion (16b) arranged below a lateral rib (6F) and abutting the lower surface of the lateral rib (6F) while overlapping the lateral rib (6F) in the up-down direction."
