MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517097379 A) filed by Sony Semiconductor Solutions - Corporation, Kanagawa, on Oct. 9, for 'solid-state imaging device and electronic apparatus.'

Inventor(s) include Kobayashi Hideki; Nitta Yosuke; Saito Suguru; Fujii Nobutoshi; Zaizen Yoshifumi; Urata Akihiro; Furuse Shunsuke; and Sato Naoyuki.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "[Problem] To more appropriately receive light in an infrared band. [Solution] This solid-state imaging device comprises a first pixel, a second pixel, a wiring layer, and an infrared transmission filter. The first pixel receives light in a visible light band and generates pixel signals in the visible light band. The second pixel is formed laminated with the first pixel, the second pixel receiving light in an infrared light band transmitted through the first pixel and generating pixel signals in the infrared light band. The wiring layer is formed between the first pixel and the second pixel and is provided with wiring for propagating signals outputted from the first pixel. The infrared transmission filter is provided with an infrared transmission filter on a light-incidence surface of the second pixel."

The patent application was internationally filed on Apr. 04, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/013936.
