MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641009091 A) filed by Indian Space Research Organisation, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Jan. 29, for 'solenoid-operated valve assembly with mechanical latching mechanism and rotary push-pull manual override.'
Inventor(s) include Kuhite, Kailas Shalikram; Ambadath, Dhanoop; Jagtap, Rhuturaj Babasaheb; Antony, Justin M; and Sankaran Unni, Sunil.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A solenoid valve assembly (100) for controlling flow of a fluid includes a valve body (102) defining a flow passage between an inlet (114) and an outlet (116), and a valve poppet (104) movable between closed and open positions. A main solenoid coil (106) drives the valve poppet (104) towards the open position, while a mechanical latching mechanism (110) mechanically retains the valve poppet (104) in the open position without continuous energization of the main solenoid coil (106). A latch solenoid coil (108) releases the mechanical latching mechanism (110) to permit closure of the valve poppet (104). A main solenoid override mechanism (112) includes a rotary push-pull main override knob (134) that is first rotated from a neutral position and then translated to actuate the valve poppet (104), providing a safety interlock and enabling deliberate manual operation in addition to electrical actuation."
