MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122410 A) filed by New Prince Shri Bhavani College Of Engineering And Technology; Jenishiya Jebaselvam C; Selciy A J; Suvedha B; and Hemamalini V, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'solar sweepnet autonomous road cleaning machine.'
Inventor(s) include Jenishiya Jebaselvam C; Selciy A J; Suvedha B; and Hemamalini V.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The Solar SweepNet Autonomous Road Cleaning Machine is a sustainable and intelligent Robotic system that keeps roads and public areas clean. Conventional cars use fossil fuels and are costly, while manual sweeping and other traditional cleaning techniques are labour-intensive and hazardous to one's health. By presenting a solar-powered; self-sufficient cleaning robot, this project offers a dependable substitute that lowers energy usage and human labour. The robot effec.tively cleans dust, dry leaves, and tiny waste particles by combining a vacuum motor for dust collection with a rotating brush for debris sweeping. To make disposal easier, all collected waste is kept in a detachable bin. The design offers effective cleaning performance without the complexity of full suction-based systems, is inexpensive, and is simple to maintain. The mac. hine can. navigate on its own and avoid obstacles like cars, pedestrians, and stationary objects because of motors and ultrasonic sensors. To guarantee adequate coverage of roads and pathways without continual supervision, it can also run according to a predetermined cleaning schedule. Because of this, it can be used in smart city settings, on campus, and on streets. Because of Internet of Things technology, users can remotely monitor and control the system from a computer or mobile app. The dustbin's capacity, cleaning progress, battery level, and solar charging status are all shown in real time, and an alert is sent out if the bin is full or something goes wrong. The Solar SweepNet provides an economical and environmentally friendly answer to contemporary urban cleaning problems by combining solar energy, brush-and-vacuum cleaning, autonomous navigation, and Internet of Things monitoring."
