According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a solar-powered cold storage system intended for use in rural agricultural regions lacking reliable electricity access. The system integrates a monocrystalline photovoltaic panel, a rechargeable 12 V lead-acid battery, a vapor compression cycle refrigeration unit, a highly insulated cold chamber, and a microcontroller-based control mechanism that monitors and regulates temperature, humidity, and energy flow. The system maintains a temperature between 4 C and 8 C, extends the shelf life of perishable produce by 2-3 days, reduces post-harvest losses by up to 25%, and provides an environmentally sustainable alternative to diesel-powered or grid-dependent cold storage."
