MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441028068 A) filed by Madanapalle Institute Of Technology And Science, Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh, on April 5, 2024, for 'solar power storage system and a method of switching between supercapacitor and battery thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to renewable energy storage systems, particularly a hybrid solar power storage system [100], comprising a photovoltaic solar panel [102] for capturing solar energy, a supercapacitor [104] for rapid energy discharge and charge cycles, a battery bank [106] consisting of one or more batteries for long-term energy storage, a microcontroller [110] integrated with a Reinforcement Learning (RL) algorithm-based energy management system to optimize the energy distribution between the supercapacitor and battery bank based on real-time data and operational efficiency, wherein the supercapacitor [104] and the battery bank [106] are configured to operate in parallel, managed by the mode selector-based controller [108], to optimize power delivery and storage efficiency, enhanced by the strategic control of the microcontroller [110] and a Light-Dependent Resistor (LDR) [112] to monitor the direction of sunlight and adjust the solar panel orientation accordingly for maximum solar energy capture."
