According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention is for running an Inverter Air Conditioner (IAC) using a fractional capacity (20-80% of the rating of the IAC compressor) solar power supply source by parallel operation of the DC output of the rectifier on the power circuit board of the IAC and DC output of a solar panel. Energy fed by the solar panel will reduce the drawl of energy from the grid. * Use of fractional capacity source enables utilization of the solar energy where deployment of full capacity solar panels is not feasible due to space constraints. * Such fractional capacity power sources can be added on in a modular way."
