MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517070598 A) filed by Longi Green Energy Technology Co. Ltd., Shaanxi, China, on July 24, 2025, for 'solar cell and photovoltaic module.'
Inventor(s) include Li, Zhenguo; Tong, Hongbo; Liu, Qingping; Ding, Chao; Dong, Guangbin; He, Jinhua; Zhang, Hongchao; and Xu, Xinxing.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present application relates to the technical field of photovoltaics. Provided are a solar cell and a photovoltaic module. The solar cell comprises a silicon substrate and a passivation and anti-reflection layer located on the silicon substrate, wherein a textured structure is provided on a surface of the silicon substrate, and the textured structure comprises a plurality of pyramid-like structures; each pyramid-like structure comprises a conical surface and a conical top, the conical surface of each pyramid-like structure comprises a first conical sub-surface, which is far away from the conical top, and a second conical sub-surface, and in the conical surface of each pyramid-like structure, the first conical sub-surface and the second conical sub-surface have different surface morphologies; and the passivation and anti-reflection layer comprises a first part located on the first conical sub-surface and a second part located on the second conical sub-surface, and in the passivation and anti-reflection layer, the thickness of the first part is greater than the thickness of the second part in the same direction close to the conical top. The present application can ensure that an excellent passivation effect is achieved at each position, and reduces waste, increases the absorption of light, and has a good light-trapping effect, thereby increasing a short-circuit current and improving the photoelectric conversion efficiency."
