MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411011077 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 16, 2024, for 'soil moisture detection device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A soil moisture detection device, comprising a housing 1 configured with four rods 2 each configured with a motorized wheel 3 for maneuvering housing 1 on surface, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 for evaluating 3D mapping of surroundings which is displayed on a touch interactive display panel 5 mapped on housing 1 for enabling user to select a portion of surface, a robotic link 6 configured with housing 1 for positioning a motorized clamp 7 on user specified portion for positioning a metallic post 10 on portion, a motorized circular shaped slider 8 arranged between clamp 7 and link 6 for penetrating of metallic post 10 into soil, a motorized vertical sliding unit 9 for inserting post 10 inside soil, a sensing module installed on housing 1 for detecting depth of insertion and pressure experienced by clamp 7 and based on which moisture content is detected."
