MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020039 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'soil aeration assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Shivani Sharma; Vikas; Sonam Arya; and Sahdev Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A soil aeration assistive device, characterizes a U-shaped frame 1 equipped with omnidirectional wheels 2 to be maneuvered on agricultural farm, a telescopically operated handle 3 is attached for controlling the frame's 1 direction, an ultrasonic sensor on the handle 3 detects the user's height to extend or retract the handle 3 accordingly, a camera 4 mounted on the frame 1 assists in determining the farm's dimensions and the path for aeration, a laser projection unit 5 positioned on frame 1 for guides the user, multiple shafts 6 connected to the wheels 2 with each carry pneumatic pins 7 for penetrating the soil as the wheels 2 move for aerating the farm, a speed sensor synchronized with the camera 4 detects the user's walking speed and a ground-penetrating radar (GPR) mapped on the frame 1 detects root depth, adjusting the pins 7 to avoid root damage during aeration."
