MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531018016 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 28, for 'sock wearing assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Sibun Parida.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sock wearing assistive device, comprising a platform 101 developed to be positioned on a ground surface and configured to accommodate a user for sitting while putting on socks, plurality of extendable legs 102 that are adjustable for providing support to the platform 101 to ensure comfortable seating, a microphone 103 enabling the user to provide input voice commands regarding requirement of assistance in putting the socks, an imaging unit 104 to determine height of the user, a L-shaped plate 105 configured to support the user's foot while putting on socks, a pair of horizontal sliders 106 providing required translation to the plate 105 to adjust the plate's 105 distance to suit user's comfort and reach, a C-shaped expandable member 107 for allowing the user to positon the user's sock on the member 107."
