MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026026 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'snow surfacing device for physically disabled.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A snow surfacing device for physically disabled comprises an L-shaped platform 11, constructed with first 1 and second extendable plate 2 to provide support to user's back, a pair of telescopically operated rods 3 are installed with first plate 1 for providing support to platform 11 on a snow surface, a proximity sensor for detecting presence of user, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 to capture and processes multiple images of the user, a touch enabled screen 5 installed with the second plate 2 for enabling user to give input commands for surfing over the snow surface, motorized wheels 7 configured with rods 3 for maneuvering plate 1 on snow surface, an elongated horizontal member 8 installed to extend for positioning the member 8, a motorized hinge 10 configured to tilt the member 8, a pair of rectangular slabs 9 to absorb shock in case of impact of user's face/head."
