MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026056 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'snow diverting device for vehicles.'

Inventor(s) include Jasgurpreet Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A snow diverting device for vehicles comprises of a rectangular frame 1 developed to be positioned at front portion of a vehicle, a pair of motorized clamping units 2 integrated with the frame 1 for acquiring a grip at the front portion of vehicle, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed on the frame 1 to detect presence of snowy surface in path of the vehicle, a pair of hydraulically operated rods 5 extending from the frame 1 to position a V-shaped member 4 attached at ends of the rods 5 in front portion of the vehicle, plurality of Archimedes screws installed on front portion of the member 4 for facilitating removal of the detected snow from path of the vehicle by diverting snow from front portion to sideways. Further, multiple vibrating units configured on the member 4s to produce vibrations of pre-defined intensity."
