MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517071568 A) filed by Nippon Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on July 28, for 'sn-zn based-alloy plated steel material, battery case and fuel tank.'
Inventor(s) include Yamaguchi Shinichi.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This Sn-Zn based-alloy plated steel material is provided with: a steel material; a first alloy layer that is on the surface of the steel material and is mainly composed of Fe, Cr and Ni; a second alloy layer that is on the first alloy layer and is mainly composed of Sn, Fe, Ni and Zn; and an Sn-Zn based plating layer that is on the second alloy layer and is mainly composed of Sn and Zn. The surface coverage of the steel material surface by the first alloy layer is 70% or more. The second alloy layer is mainly composed of at least one of an FeSn2 phase and an Fe3Zn10 phase that is partially substituted by Ni. The Sn-Zn based plating layer is composed of 1.0-15.0% by mass of Zn, with the balance being made up of Sn and impurities. The total coating amount of the first alloy layer, the second alloy layer and the Sn-Zn based plating layer is 5-80 g/m2 per one surface."
The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 22, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/011340.
