MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122577 A) filed by Atme College Of Engineering; and Dr. Prathibha M K, Mysuru, Karanataka, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'smart wearable device for real-time health data acquisition and alert transmission.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Prathibha M K.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention titled Smart Wearable Device for Real-Time Health Data Acquisition and Alert Transmission describes a compact IoT-enabled wearable designed for continuous monitoring of physiological and motion-related parameters. The device integrates an optical sensor for measuring heart rate and body temperature, an inertial sensor module for motion analysis and fall detection, and a GPS unit for real-time location tracking. A microcontroller serves as the core processor, acquiring, analyzing, and coordinating multi-sensor data and communication tasks. An OLED display provides real-time health information to the user. When abnormal physiological values, sudden impacts, or a manual SOS input are detected, the system sends an automated alert through a Wi-Fi interface using a Telegram-based messaging protocol, including location and sensor data. A rechargeable lithium-polymer battery ensures continuous operation, making the invention suitable for elderly individuals, chronically ill patients, and users needing constant monitoring."
