MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521019053 A) filed by Keetronics Pvt. Ltd., Pune, Maharashtra, on March 4, 2025, for 'smart water in fuel (swif) sensor with corrosion free electrodes.'
Inventor(s) include Ms. Madhura Karandikar; Mr. Vidyadhar Tilak; and Mr. Rajesh Kulkarni.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a water-in-fuel sensor system for diesel fuel systems that enhances fuel quality monitoring and corrosion control. A sensor assembly comprising a sensor housing (101) fabricated from corrosion-resistant material houses a printed circuit board (102) supporting a pair of gold-plated electrodes arranged in a dual-fork geometry with a sensing tip (106). An LED sleeve (105) provides visual status indications while an end cap (103) secures the board and relieves strain on a pigtail connector (104). A microcontroller-based control unit integrated on the printed circuit board (102) measures electrical resistance changes between the electrodes, converts these into a digital signal, and initiates a power-on self-test to verify sensor integrity. The system periodically generates controlled anti-corrosion pulses of less than 100 milliseconds and provides an open-drain output for interfacing with external devices."
