According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The Smart Waste Segregation Dustbin is an automated waste management solution designed to identify and categorize waste into wet and dry types at the point of disposal. Utilizing an Arduino-based embedded system, the device employs an ultrasonic sensor for proximity detection and a moisture sensor for material classification. Upon detection, a servo-controlled mechanical flap directs the waste into the appropriate compartment. This system minimizes manual intervention, improves sanitation for waste workers, and enhances recycling efficiency by preventing cross-contamination at the source."
