MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641061146 A) filed by Thota Durga Prasad; Dr Satti Sudha Mohan Reddy; Dr K Aruna Kumari; and Dr Btp Madhav, Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh, on May 14, for 'smart soft-shell crab farm with iot & intelligent system.'
Inventor(s) include Thota Durga Prasad; Dr Satti Sudha Mohan Reddy; Dr K Aruna Kumari; and Dr Btp Madhav.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides a smart soft-shell crab farming system integrating multi-parameter water quality sensing for pH, EC, temperature, DO, turbidity, ammonia, and water level, motion-based crab activity monitoring automatic actuator control for pumps aerators solenoid valves feeders and alarms cloud-based data analytics and remote alerting via an ESP32 microcontroller. The system continuously monitors tank conditions, automatically activates aerators for low oxygen, initiates water exchange via pumps and solenoid valves for high ammonia or turbidity, dispenses feed on schedule via feeders tracks crab activity deviations, and generates SMS/email/push alerts for abnormal conditions. A web dashboard and mobile application provide remote monitoring and manual override, improving water quality management, reducing labour costs, and increasing survival rates in soft-shell crab aquaculture."
