According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention, titled "Smart Safety Device in Footwear for Women Protection," relates to an intelligent wearable device integrated within footwear to ensure women's safety and provide real-time emergency response. The invention combines sensor technology, GPS, GSM, and a microcontroller-based control system to detect distress conditions, send SOS alerts, and transmit accurate location data to pre-registered contacts or local authorities. Designed to operate discreetly, the device can be manually or automatically activated, ensuring instant communication during emergencies. The proposed footwear integrates pressure, motion, and vibration sensors that continuously monitor the wearer's movement patterns. In case of abnormal activity, such as sudden acceleration, impact, or immobilization, the system triggers an automated alert. A concealed switch also allows manual activation when the user feels unsafe. Upon activation, the GPS module captures the real-time location, while the GSM module transmits this data through text messages or mobile networks to ensure rapid assistance and situational awareness. The invention's key advantage lies in its ergonomic, waterproof, and energy-efficient design, allowing users to wear the footwear comfortably in daily life without compromising safety or aesthetics. By embedding smart technology within everyday footwear, the invention provides an innovative, reliable, and user-friendly approach to women's safety. It empowers women to respond effectively in distress situations, bridging the gap between wearable fashion and modern security technology."
