MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122869 A) filed by Meenakshi Academy Of Higher Education And Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'smart reverse osmosis purifier with precision mineral enrichment for customized drinking water.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. A. Josephine; Dr. V. Sureka Varalakshmi; and Dr. S. Ashok Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses to a smart reverse osmosis (RO) water purification device fabricated to deliver precision mineral enrichment and customized drinking water quality. The device comprises a reverse osmosis purification unit fluidly connected to a mineral enrichment chamber containing a real-time mineral sensing module configured to detect element-specific concentrations of calcium, magnesium, zinc, and other trace minerals. A multi-element micro-dispenser array, governed by a microcontroller with an integrated health-profile-based mineral profiling engine, adaptively doses minerals to achieve personalized water composition. A reject-stream mineral recovery loop selectively reclaims desirable ions, while a layered gradient mineral reservoir and an electrochemical mineral ion port enable fine control over mineral gradients and ionic supplementation. An automated pH and alkalinity buffer controller maintains chemical stability, and a transparent mineral log with predictive maintenance alerts ensures continuous monitoring. The system provides safe, customizable, and nutritionally optimized mineral-enriched drinking water."
