MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102920 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 25, 2025, for 'smart portable solar-powered pond irrigation system.'
Inventor(s) include Pushpendra Kumar Sharma; Chetan Suri; Bishnu Kant Shukla; Himanshu Kumar Yadav; and G. Himanshu Naidu.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A smart portable solar-powered pond irrigation system (100) for small and marginal farmers, comprising a movable frame with wheels (102), a solar panel (104), a DC motor with mono block pump (106), flexible inlet/outlet pipes (108), a soil moisture sensor (110), a water level sensor (112), a microcontroller unit (114), and a motor driver relay circuit (116). The system automatically activates irrigation based on soil moisture and water level. The soil moisture sensor (110) ensures water is supplied only when the field requires irrigation, while the water level sensor (112) prevents pump dry running. The microcontroller (114) and relay (116) manage motor operation. Portability allows deployment across multiplefields. The system conserves water, reduces labor, prevents pump damage, operates on solar energy, and provides a cost-effective, reliable, and energy-efficient solution for small-scale farming."
