MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531087829 A) filed by Narula Institute Of Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, on Sept. 15, 2025, for 'smart pond monitoring and control system using iot and machine learning.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sangita Roy; Dr. Moupali Roy; and Mrs. Arpita Santra.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An IoT-enabled advanced water quality monitoring system integrates a sensor network, an aquatic mobile robot, an Arduino ESP32 microcontroller, NB-IoT communication, cloud-based machine learning analytics, and automated actuators for pond management and environmental conservation. The system monitors pH, turbidity, TDS, DO, and temperature in real time, using a solar-powered robot for spatial data collection. Data is transmitted to a cloud platform, where machine learning models calculate a Water Quality Index, predict trends, and recommend fish species. Actuators automatically correct deviations, and a web/mobile app provides remote monitoring and control. The system ensures sustainable aquaculture and ecosystem health with high accuracy and energy efficiency."
