According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides an intelligent medication dispensing system designed to enhance patient adherence to prescribed medication schedules. The system comprises a regulated power supply (10), an input device (keyboard) (12) for schedule configuration, an IR sensor (14) to detect pill removal, a microcontroller (16) for central control, an LCD display (18), a servo motor/actuator (20) for dispensing, a buzzer (22) for audio alerts, and a mobile/IoT interface for real-time notifications. Pills are preloaded into compartments, and at scheduled times, the microcontroller (16) activates the actuator (20) to release the appropriate dose while simultaneously triggering alerts via the LCD (18) and buzzer (22). The IR sensor (14) confirms pill removal, and if a dose is missed, the system notifies caregivers through the mobile interface. By integrating automated dispensing, alerts, and remote monitoring, the system provides a reliable, user-friendly, and cost-effective solution to improve medication adherence."
