MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641048302 A) filed by Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 16, for 'smart lpg management system.'
Inventor(s) include Mr. Thirubala Saravanan E; Mr. Vignesh A; Mr. Sivan P; and Dr. T. Manikandan.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention presents a smart LPG management system designed to enhance household safety through an embedded control architecture that prioritizes containment over notification. The system utilizes an ESP32 microcontroller operating with a finite state machine to continuously monitor gas leakage and cylinder usage. When gas concentration exceeds a defined threshold, the system automatically closes the solenoid valve, activates a local alarm, and initiates a GSM call to a registered contact before any cloud communication occurs. User attempts to override safety actions during hazardous conditions are restricted by firmware logic. A load cell continuously measures cylinder weight and estimates remaining usage, enabling conditional booking functionality only during safe states. The integration of sensing, control, and communication ensures reliable operation with minimal delay. Experimental results demonstrate consistent performance, accurate state transitions, and effective safety enforcement, making the system suitable for domestic environments requiring proactive and dependable gas monitoring solutions."
